This could have been a very interesting take on the topic.  But it really needs
a lot more.  The composition is very static, dead center in the viewplane. 
Adding some stars in the background would have helped a lot, and moving the
camera closer and using a much shorter focal length would have helped to give a
greater sense of depth.  Making the edges of each section more gaseous would
have really been a nice touch.

It's clear that you put a lot of effort into developing this image.  Too =
bad it isn't done more artistically: by picking the best view (decide =
upon greyscale or color, not both), showing the central star, and =
placing it into context by adding background stars.
