From rich@brickbots.com:
I think this may have needed a bit more time. The grass is difficult to see as
it does not contrast at all with the ground and is so sparse and even. If you
wanted a bit of grass without covering the ground, small clumps might have been
a better choice.

Good work on the atmospherics though, and the simplicity of the idea. Try
moving one of the side crosses back in space so it is not all so symmetrical.

Also, be sure to enable anti-aliasing, or double your render resolution and
downsample in your favorite image editor.

The graphic simplicity of the cross works well, why not do away with the ground
texture all together and try to use more sillouettes of the grass/plants/rocks
to define the space.

The ground texture lets this entry down. But for that, this entry would have
been worth some seriously higher marks, the rest of the scene works so well.

From hildurka@simnet.is:
It_s veird how only the middle cross is giving off shadow.
The textures need a lot of work, the grass is almost
invisible due to the confusing pattern on the ground. The
background is nice but this image still needs a lot of
work. I like the concept.

The earth area (whatever it is) looks a bit strange to me. I like the lighting
but maybe this could be improved by increasing the intensity.

What's going on with the ground?

From simon_smith@zen.co.uk:
A very well set-up image. Very iconic. If you had been able to get the ground
better, it could have been a winner. Unfortunately the ground texture showing
through the too-sparse grass is very distracting. If you get the ground right
and repost this image somewhere, I'd like to see it.

cool effect. although the ground could look a bit more realistic, the pattern
is also pleasing as it is. could use a big thicker fog to better exaggerate
theme.
