(1) I really like the detail in the river.  The water looks great.  The
riverbottom looks great.  The leaves on the top look great.
(2) I like the color of the leaves.  I have not used the tree macros you
mentioned, but I wonder if you could add "texure" (changes in the normal or
using isosurfaces or something) to the trunk of the trees.  Even trees with
smooth bark have peeling parts.  The trunk of the tree directly across the
river from the camera looks oddly smooth.
(3) Finally the bank looks oddly smooth -- though you did a great job of putting
leaves and plants on it.

Somthing is strange about the lighting of the trees (ambient?). The rubber
ducks, being dead objects just resembling alive ones, remind me of the corpses
floating down the river in "war of the worlds".

Good overall image.  A few minor details could use some 
improvement, such as the tree trunks (look too smooth), 
the yellow leaf in the foreground and some of the red 
leaves on the tree in the upper right (also too smooth).

Pros: Original and interesting concept, outstanding modelling effort, effective
composition. Very good textures and colors. 
Cons: Almost none! I would like to see what it looks like without the fog. I
believe it doesn't add much, if at all, to the picture.
