(1)Is the image_map for the sphere taken from the BlueMarble images from NASA's
WorldWind? It looks just like it. I love that app and play with it several
times a week.
(2) Something is wrong with the scale. It looks like a tabletop model, but the
height of the sign seems to indicate it should be 2 or 3 times taller than a
person. One reason might be the rope anchors are definately too big and heavy.
Another is that the tree reminds me of bonsai.

Good painting, probably the tree (I think it is a tree) would have needed a
bigger effort with normals but I like very much the rope.

Interesting concept and well executed. The tree is a
little awkward in some places, like below the earth
where the branch doesn't seem to be growing from the
truck, and to the left of the globe where the two
branches appear to intersect.

From jyrehby@hotmail.com:
Pros: Very original, good use of the tree as a symbol of the strenght of nature
despite man's attacks. Good modelling, simple and effective composition.
Cons: Annoyingly lacking focus. Spotlights would have created a much more
dramatic, museum-like lighting focused on the Earth and tree. Right now the
curtain and flooring are too bright and distracting. Plus, a dimmer shade would
have concealed the lack of texture on the curtain.
