IMAGE DESCRIPTION:

A simple cube which is different from the bubbles and spheres around about the
image.

The cube is out of place both in shape and colour.

DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED:

Wanted to try a very simple subject matter as this is my first dabble with
Povray and first submission to IRTC.org

For something to be out of place, the simplest means of doing this would be to
have a shape or colour of an object that is different to the ones around it.
As a beginner, i figured i would stick with the very basic shapes.

The spheres were initially based on a T_Glass2 texture, but then adapted to give
the pigment an very slightly blue-ish tint, high reflection and and a ior of
1.6. This made the spheres pick up more light from other objects .

The cube is a similar texture to the spheres, but with a purple pigment and a
high ior of 3. The colour was chosen to stick out from the rest.

Lighting has a general light source to cast a gentle ambient light.

The rainbow effect on the spheres is not diffraction from the glass like
interiors of the spheres, but from 3 seperate light sources one of each colour.
The light sources are close together, but seperated slightly along the x-axis.
This was a simple way of getting a rainbow style effect on the reflections on
the spheres.

I added a plane below the objects which helps make the spheres pick up light and
reflections. The plane is set quite far below to get it out of focus but it
picks up the different light of the 3 coloured spots quite well.

Focal blur was added to the camera object. Main reason for this was to draw
the eye to the cube which is out of place.
