Points for realism. Table texture could be improved. Focal blur is effective 
and not too "pixellated", as is usually the case. The plastic texture and
reflection is especially effective.

This looks very realistic, with just enough detail in the background that
it looks normal.  The texture on the plastic looks dead-on correct.
Every game tile has the same wood texture though, and that's distracting.

Even though I agree it's unfinished, you managed to get together an reasonably
detailed foreground with a sufficiently realistic background. That's a nice
game of Scrabble indeed. Too bad I haven't found a Finnish version of the
Deluxe Scrabble - I've modeled my original version already, of course. :-)
