Interesting concept but I would like to see the city surround the desert or have
vegetation surround it to make it truly look as if the desert has been put
away.  Here it looks as if there is simply a big sand dune skyscraper in the
middle of the desert.  Unique nonetheless though.

Your idea might come across better if each floor looked different, since the
many deserts of the world all have different colours and shapes, and certainly
don't have identical dunes. Nonetheless, the idea is quite amusing, and the
image is pleasingly surreal.

An interesting idea for a picture.  A little more diversity with the dunes
between levels would have been nice.  You also might want to lower the ambient
values a bit and maybe look into some radiosity (my favorite feature ever). 
You've got some good textures, and I really like the buildings.  Keep up the
pov-raying and I look forward to seeing some more of your work in the future.

I liked the concept, but I didn't feel the picture quite captured it, possibly
for two rather small reasons.  One, I would like to see more variation on the
textures of the roofs and walls of the buildings, and maybe the sandrise should
have stretched out beyond the vanishing point, so as to show something indeed
big enough to hold all the sand it would need to.
