Abstract concept, which isn't a bad thing. The scene and lighting are on the
simple side. Nice work for a beginner though.

From rgow@lanset.com:
Not a bad first effort! Some variety in the colors between the 'desert' and the
sky would help.

Good to see you delving into some of the more complicated functions of Pov so
early. Or perhaps it's just my poor maths that has my shying away still. :)
Keep experimenting. Good luck.

An interesting idea. I've always been a fan of mazes myself. Also, for someone
who's just started to use pov-ray, I'm quite impressed with all the tricks that
you've picked up on (especially radiosity, my favorite). It would have been
nice though to see some more variation, be it something on top of the maze, a
change in the height of the objects, maybe something above it all. Keep up the
raytracing, and I hope to see some more of your work in future competitions.

a good starting point in your raytracing future life.

I like the different take on the topic, and I can appreciate the technical
effort it took to get all those shapes into place.

Congratulations on your first entry. Looking forward to more in the future...

This general idea, if employed with patterned heightfields, would work very
nicely. That would be a good place to study.

!!!! Back ground image

Very interesting. The first thing I wanted to see, when I read your description,
was the ground below the maze. I understand you want a feeling of depth, but
there must be a camera angle that will show you that seemingly infinite space
while also looking down into a crack. Some fog would be nice, to dim the
strange effects of repeated patterns at a distance.

I've got an advice for you. You said it was your first image and it is good, but
you have to work more with antialias.
