This scene looks a little cartoonish, which was probably not the intent. 
Changing the textures will help to make things seem more real and less plastic.
 Do the hieroglyphs actually say anything?

Nice concept.  The image has quite a bit of detail.  I think more attention to
realistic textures would have helped.

All the elements apear to be here. I'm not convinced by the demon... although
the whole image does have an egyptian Hyrogliphic look to it. Very plastacine
like though... with some better materials and textures this could be much
better.

The sky looks good.  I find that the fact that the 
"mortar" is visible in the pyramids makes them seem near 
and therefore appear small.
