From shevlin@uic.edu:
The bright fires distract from the figure below. There's also something a bit
off about the fires, but I understand that realistic fire is really tough.
While the buildings are intricate, they're also lacking a bit in detail; maybe
better textures (make them rough?) would help out a little. Doorways and
windows would help, too. Also, there's little to suggest that this scene is
underground; something other than a black background would help. A little
attenuation on the light sources (check out fade_power and fade_distance, if
you haven't already) would help realism and also make the need for a detailed
background less pressing.

Nice concept and liked the architectural structures. However, since this is an
image about mythology and not about archeticture then that should have been the
focus of your image. You would have done will to get a close up of the wizard
added detail to that part of image and moved your details archetictural work
into the background.

Good idea & good flames. I find the blue eggs are somewhat distracting.

I felt with the multitude of myths available, the interpretation if the theme
was a little loose. However, Myths are created by us, although often based on
some fact.
The ideas in the image are good, however I feel the framing to be a bit off.
It seems the focus of the picture was intended to be the flames, however they
are mostly off screen.

It looks ok. Though still a little too plad for my tastes.

From p_chan@shaw.ca:
The touched up buildings in the foreground look decent,
but the background ones definitely lack detail. Couldn't
you have embedded some of the larger "touch up"
elements into the "base object" the loop works with, or
something like that? Then again, you keep saying your
code's a mess, so maybe doing that wouldn't be as
straight-forward as it sounds...

The houses are too small compared to the monk. Absence of windows makes far off
houses look like boxes. The flames seem out of place. Best part is the monk
with the desks an the houses in the foreground.

It's good - but the fact that the buildings don't look like buildings kind of
works, in an ironic way. They look like books themselves - not at all like
buildings, so it gives it a sort of book inside a book feeling - like a myth.
Hard to explain it, but it works quite well. Not sure about the funny fire
effect though.
