Good effort.  I'd like to see less atmosphere and a harsher lunar surface
(deeper shadows).  The image does give the feelings you describe.

Interesting idea. Moon surface needs some more texturing to make it more
interesting. The leaf texture too is not convincing altogether. The light seems
to come from a spotlight that does not shine on the whole scene like the sun
should do.
