The image doesn't give a very high sense of volumes. Missing some shadow I
suppose and it also has too much image mapping.

You did almost the exact same scene as me.  I feel your version is actually
better, but the picture was quite blurry - I'm not sure how you got this effect
since most rendering programs produce very crisp output by default?

The scene seems strangely out of focus somehow... and the eye wanders from one
point to another without really finding a foothold... The relation with the
theme is not immediately obvious. Better than spaceships in any case.

You've done a good job creating a mood of uncertainty in the image, giving the
sense that the future is unknown.  One thing I find awkward is that the candle
flame seems too dim.  They give off enough light, but the flame itself appears
dull.
