Nice idea.

The mountains are quite smooth, and I think using an ambient green color to
simulate vegetation is not a good idea. Now also the very steep parts are
greenish, whereas normally they would be bare of vegetation, and just grey.

The idea is cool, the central object (viz. the ski) is nice, but the overall
picture composition I find horrible - this looks completely unbalanced and

I like the skier in the background.  The scene has decent 
motion.  The mountains would have benefitted from a 
"whole hog or none" approach.  Either tree covered or just 
snow and rock.  The green tint makes me think of a 
gargantuan "yellow snow" deposit from Godzilla's dog.

The mountain texture looks fairly good, as does the 
person.  The snow texture could use some work (the 
grey seems too dark to me).  The spray from the ski 
seems to end in too sharp a point.

I agree with your comment on the focal blur, and I think you made a good
decision not to use it. In real photos such as this most of the objects
would be in focus. Some of the spray from the ski is lost in the background.
and the trees/vegetation seem darker than they would appear in bright 
sunlight. The person in the distance is good but the arms are a little 
straight (a beginning skier?).
