Nice background vegetation, very atmospheric. Though the green fog is too
obvious.

From rgow@lanset.com:
Good concept & I like the colors. The jungle could probably use more ground
plants, and it looks like it stops at the 3rd tree.

From jguthkelch@netscape.net:
Nice atmosphere. Hot and steamy. I feel the sweat breaking out already.
I'm a little unsure about the ivy on the tree trunk, not as good as the rest of
the image. However, that said, an excellent picture.

From ggargett@attbi.com:
I like it. Original concept. Tree texture is a little dark.

This is great work! One of the best entries yet I've seen this round.

From raytracing@grayproductions.net:

My wife suggested something darn similar to this, so needless to say, we
approve.  Do you know her?

From bsieker@techfak.uni-bielefeld.de:

Very nice.

However, the amber drop seems to be too bright, it seems to be illuminated by a
light source near the camera, that has no effect on the rest of the scene.

From bpjackson@woh.rr.com:
Not bad, not a used up theme or low-grade quality concept. Good.

From david.madore@ens.fr:
Amusing clin d'oeil to "Jurassic Park" (and the forest looks very much jurassic
indeed).  I like that image.

=====
From clem@dhol.org:
Beautiful. Very original and appropriate use of the theme.
The amber looks very good. Amazing for a last minute
project. A testament to both your software and your skills.
The limited color palette adds drama. The impression of
overlapping circles produced by the foliage lends a
timeless abstract feel.

From MarkNitschke@gmx.de:
Very good image. I like the idea.

From p_chan@shaw.ca:
Excellent work create the jungle environment. I feel
that the image does not focus enough on the amber and
the insect, but I'm not sure how such a focus could be
achieved.

=====
From batronyx@alliancecable.net:
Not bad for a rush piece.

=====
From slone@hiwaay.net:
Great work, and amazing you did it so quickly, though you had the trees
ready to go.

Notable for originality, lighting

From r@jerkweed.kiva.net:
Great idea and nice scene. I'm not sure whether you are breaking the rules by
starting an image before knowing what the topic was though. I guess when you
started is a bigger issue.
