Wow! Nice!
A fairly obvious idea but superbly realised.

From rgow@lanset.com:
Good job on the splatter and the glass. But why is the bullet still in the
cartridge? The bullet should be fired from the gun, leaving the cartridge
behind.

Superb!

From res189pe@verizon.net:
I subtracted a point for technical merit, cause I couldn't figure out how the
whole cartridge came flying out of the gun.

I like this. The best of the "bullet shattering" ouvre.

From maarten_hofman@hotmail.com:
A combination of the breaking and falling cups and the things shot through and
at by bullets... Well executed, especially the way the water moves. I like the
simple background, though you might get comments from others about it.

Nice image. Good detailed modeling on the glass.

Just for the fun of bitching around : Doesn't look like a champagne glass to me
(as far as I can tell, champagne glasses are tall and thin). Still, it's a very
nice picture and I *DO* like the glass and it's rather intricate pattern
(though I still wouldn't drink champagne out of it;)

Common theme in the contest. Hard to determine what really happens. Good shot
at it! You didn't miss!!!!

From jonathan@scudder.no:
Glass texture seems a bit too dark, especially in the base. Otherwise would have
been nice to get a full reflection of the debris in the table. The beer mats
seemed a bit flat, and perhaps not quite suited to the very posh glass. But:
great image!

From bsieker@techfak.uni-bielefeld.de:

Quite nice, although I think the glass looks a bit too black, especially the
bottom.

The liquid looks a bit like mercury, very reflective, and a bit too blobby.

From david.madore@ens.fr:
Very good image. It is a bit unfortunate that the shadow under the glass is
basically wrong. The way the liquid spurts out, however, is very impressive.

Interesting cross between the common 'smashing cup"
and "bullet through an object" themes in this round. The
coasters are a good detail. They add valuable context in
the absence of a background. I like the back splash and
the splash from the top.

From MarkNitschke@gmx.de:
Nice idea, though there aren't much moments like this (who would dhoot at a
glass). The glass and fluid is very well done. The bullet should have some
motion-blur.
Image itself: I think, the whole scene is wrong. First of all, you show the
bullet flying AND still having the small capsule with the explosive at its and.
The one reddish end of it is the bullet, the rest would stay inside the
revolver or be thrown out, if you use a pistol. I also think, the surface of
the fluid would be more calm at that special moment. There also wouldn't be any
drops on the entry hole (not like seen here)and the fluid leaving the hole
would look different. But at this point I am not so sure (never seen something
like that), I'd only thinks so when thinking a bit about physics.
Though a good image.

From p_chan@shaw.ca:
The large droplets at the entry point of the bullet look
somewhat awkward to me - they seem too big and out of
place as there isn't really any other sign of liquid coming
out in that direction. The cup is done very well.

Lots of bullets and glasses this round, but this one is excellent. I
especially like the liquid and the texture of the glass. Very realistic.
