Woah.
That's proably the most moving picture I've ever seen in the irtc.

From rgow@lanset.com:
Excellent image! My favorite of this round so far.

From ewan@chmai2.loxinfo.co.th:
Very good image. Not too many get saved to my HD but this one did. Well done.

From maarten_hofman@hotmail.com:
Quite impressive. Good choice of colours, theme and the right number of
details.

From the_dark_allies@hotmail.com:

Very great work! One of the best entries I have seen this round yet. This
image is getting close to the photo-real term.

From soulmates@gci.net:
Really good idea and fairly good execution.. But the
hydrant is too close to the wall for it to have been used as
a skip rope anchor.

From N6re@mminternet.com:
Very fine interpretation of theme and technically well done.

This is one of the best images I've seen so far, that is made only by using
POV-Ray. Must be a winner for this topic I hope...

From kantell@qup.com:
This looks more like a shadow instead of a burn.

From raytracing@grayproductions.net:

Would love to say something half as moving as this image, but I'm just too blown
away...

From bsieker@techfak.uni-bielefeld.de:

Wow, this is a really excellent work! Congratulations.

From bpjackson@woh.rr.com:
Very good. Another unique though about a single moment.

From david.madore@ens.fr:
Excellent! The minute care given to details is highly commendable. I can only
criticize some minor details, such as the aspect of the girl's shadow in
relation to the rope's, or the way the leaves are scattered on the ground, but
these are completely unimportant.

From dick@buckosoft.com:
Beautiful picture. It's almost perfect. My only complaint is the maple leaves
(which you already apologized for).
Perhaps if you just ran 3 cylinders through them (main stem and two secondary
stems) it would give them some depth.

OK. I keep coming back to this pic. I have spent many minutes admiring it.
Unfortunately, this leads me to another complaint. A mason would never build a
brick wall with non-overlapping bricks. In places you even have 3 bricks
aligned on the vertical. The area above the fire hydrant is particularly
structurally weak. (Still my #1 pic)

From clem@dhol.org:
Excellent. Great attention to detail. I particularly like the
hallway and the pavement and wall textures. The bit with
the mortar and shadows is very clever. The cranes are an
excellent addition. The tilted perspective does add
drama. The char on the hydrant makes the point well.

From MarkNitschke@gmx.de:
Looks very good.

From p_chan@shaw.ca:
Excellent work. You have done an excellent job of
conveying the tragedy of this event. Adding curvature
to the leaves is a nice touch - I suppose they do still
look somewhat flat, but the curvature is quite noticable,
and adds to the realism of the leaves.

From batronyx@alliancecable.net:
THIS is art! If I had any complaints, it would be that the leaf colors are a bit
too saturated maybe.

From noe.falzon@tiscali.fr:
Your idea is more than marvelous. I did not get all the details before I read
your text. It is very touching. And impressive. It makes me want to never
forget that little girl.

My favorite... but next time, let's try for a happier theme.

Pretty good texturing and modeling. But I'm confused about whether the scene is
taken during the explosion or long after. Where is the girl, why are the
leaves on the ground still intact. Maybe having people walking by with a
bluring affect would have emphasized the frozen moment of the girl jump roping
more.
