I'm not sure arrows travel fast enough to do that to the air! (Though it wasn't
realistic in the matrix either).

From rgow@lanset.com:
Original interpretation. The arrows all disappear into their shadows, changing
the angle of the light might make the them stand out more.

From maarten_hofman@hotmail.com:
I'm glad you didn't use motion blur, but I regret the lack of additional
details. Maybe a different camera position might've helped making the arrows
more recognizable... I needed the description in order to understand it (so it
was good that you added the description).

Good interpretation on the theme. The incoming dart however had me confused at
first as to what it was. Some texturing improvements would of also helped.

Keep at it!

Nice use of focus in the image. :-)

From bsieker@techfak.uni-bielefeld.de:

The incoming arrow appears to be supersonic. Only when flying faster than the
speed of sound, do objects in the air produce a cone-shaped shock wave.

The better method to indicate speed in a still image would be use motion blur. I
think POV can do that.

Also, use a higher JPEG quality setting. The size limit is 250k, your image is
only 33, and shows visible artifacts, which would have been unneccessary.

Nice image. Perhaps a bit hard to parse visually, however.

From llama009@hotmail.com:
The back of the arrows and the target look great, but the arrow trail thing
nearly totally hides the 6th arrow with sort or ruins the effect.

From clem@dhol.org:
A nice change from all the bullets. I don't know that
borrowing the signature "Matrix" effect was a good idea.
A friend who saw this image thought it was something
about a tornado touching down.

=====
From slone@hiwaay.net:
Very sharp, bold image, but as you say the _bullet time_ effect isn_t quite
right.
The focus is probably on the tip of the incoming bolt, but it ends up placing
the
focus on the other arrow_s ends.

Good idea... I'd like to see it more developed
Notable for originality
