An interesting concept and some nice surprise details like the safety signs on
the window. Some of the objects in the immediate foreground look oversized due
to the unusual camera position. An eye level camera might give this scene a
more natural look.

This image borders on being "off-topic", but I like the description you added.
I'm otherwise impressed by the trace and the details. It might have been fun to
make the landscapes actual 3D raytraces (as it is 2052 after all, so they
could've invented 3D painting) but without it it is impressive enough.

Although a good image technically, this doesn't convey the story very well.  I
could not see the 'why' of this image without reading the description.  Perhaps
a couple of other touches would have made the image, e.g. a barren landscape
outside the window and a calendar showing the date.

The detail of the scene is excellent, especially 
considering most of it was made with only with POV's 
text editor.  One thing that is somewhat awkward is the 
phong/specular highlight on the light fixtures.  The 
highlight makes it obvious that the light is coming from a 
point source in the middle of the fixture, rather than from 
the entire "tube."  Using area lights might fix this.
