I'll take up golf for that one! Incredible amount of detail, I especially the
waves coming into the sand in the lower right. The only thing I don't like is
the olive green texture on the greens which looks plastic in comparison to the
rest of the scene.

=====
From tek@evilsuperbrain.com:
Bizarre idea! :) Some of the textures seem rather flat, but all the other ones
look really good. Great use of heightfields.

=====
From shay@simcoparts.com:
Really nice. Tons of details. The apparent pinching on the edges of the greens
is a little distracting. All of the small touches in this image like the waves,
the waterfall, the detailed bridge, the boat, ect. had me staring at this one
for several minutes.

From chris@ugan.com:
Great modeling and really great concept. Some of the textures look a little
plastic but a great image overall. One of the best this round.

From maarten_hofman@hotmail.com:
Although not entirely on topic, still a pretty picture and a neat idea (even
though I don't play golf).

From batronyx@alliancecable.net:
Truly Spectacular. The water is excellent and the waterfall a great touch. I do
think the texture of central putting green is too saturated and rather plain
compared to the rich texturing at the base of the formation. I can see at the
left of the green a subtle difference that indicates it probably wasn't for
lack of trying, but perhaps it could have benefitted from the technique used on
the tee box. I smell a winner anyway.

waterfalls don't look right,other wise very good

I have to say, I hate playing golf but I would give this course a try. A lot of
nice details in this picture.

From 25ct@lineone.net:

I thought this was a fascinating piece of work. Nice.

From jschmi@optonline.net:
I would love to go golfing there! You paid much attention to detail, it is
beatiful.

=====
From brendthess@attbi.com:
An excellently implemented idea, especially gor POV. The waves matching the
basic curve of the shallow cove in the lower right are an especially good
touch.  Overall, an excellent image.

=====
From jrcsurvey@aol.com:
The level of detail and technical scope of this picture is remarkable.

If the celebration of spectacle in nature derives from the romantic persuit
of wildness, the sublime, here we have an appreciation of nature of a
different sort. The picaresque becomes a backdrop for a human interaction
with nature via a game. The landscape is exotic and consumable.

=====
From chris_hormann@gmx.de:
Very nice work. Of course not what one would think of when hearing
'spectacular
landscapes' but none the less very nice idea. Great composition and you
managed
to show the relaxing atmosphere very well. Some technical critique: The
heightfield use for the rock shapes is quite strongly visible and the brown
parts of the golf field do not look that good.

=====
From clem@dhol.org:
Wouldn't you like to have the golf ball concession here?
Surreal ut spectacular. I like the beach detail. Could use
differentiation between ground and grass on the edges of
the islets. Maybe a bit of brush around some of the edges
to serve as rough (and stop some wayward balls).

=====
From ive@lilysoft.com:
I guess if I play golf there, you could find me most of the time in the lagoon -
diving for the ball.
Funny and a great scene

This is one of my favourite entries! I love the attention
to detail you've put into this image.

=====
From p_chan@shaw.ca:
The detail in this scene is excellent! The water looks
very realistic - the only thing that could be added is a
wake behind the boat in front of the resort.

=====
From irtc_mail@yahoo.co.uk:

This is a spectacular rendering, especially the water, but golf (yawn) is
not a very spectacular thing to do on this landscape. The tree on
the left looks too smooth and the greens seem to be made of plastic.

My wife wants to know, How does the gardener mow the tee in the left forground
into the regulation alternating grass strips without falling off the front with
his mower to his death?
A perfect score awarded 20,20,20. Technically Challenging landscape (you built
most of it yourself), Artistically pleasing to the eye and definitely a
Spectacular Landscape. BTW, Suggest you submit this one to a golfing magazine
under the title of "Dream Course of The Month". PS - We do NOT play golf
