Yes, technically this is an image I can appreciate, with the sea and the fish. I
also like the fact that it was done in the text editor. For the theme it is,
however, a bit cartoonish.

The waves are too regular.  Real waves are highly chaotic, in effect adding a
white noise to your pattern.

I think the main thing that lets this image down is the fish. I had to give a
high technical merit for your splash alone, because i have been trying for
along time to get that effect! Also technical is given for the ripples being
true to physics.

Good splashing effect, but it is hard to tell what is doing the =
splashing -- a leaf, some trash, a fish?  I think the splash ripples =
extend out way too far.  Good sky and water.

Hard to achieve a truly lonely feel with such bright 
colors.  The sun looks cool, but not especially realistic.

The elliptical concept (two focuses, the fish and the boat) 
works, surprisingly enough.  I like the splash and the 
semiabstract sun.
