With a little bit more work (mostly detail inside the space craft), this
could've been a great entry.

From darwallace@earthlink.net:
Spacecraft have a lot of interior detail... otherwise excellent.

At first I was not sure where the real loneliness story in here was until
reading your text. Nice idea but perhaps a lonely astronaut looking out would
improve this.

the lens flare is a little much

Yep, if I was to enter this round, I would have probably gone for Yuri Gagarin.
To me, no one was lonelier than him. Good concept.

Pretty cut-and-dry

From cfusner@enter.net:
I notice the astronaut is also using Moray. (No doubt the flashing
danger indicators are because he forgot to reduce the duty cycle
setting in Win POV). You have done well for a new creation mode
you are no accustomed to (i.e. Using Moray for an entire scene)

Ah, to be shot into space with just me, a computer, and my
raytracing tools... :-) Wouldn't it be grand? Wouldn't many
people who know me willingly oblige? <g>

Good effort, even though it was quick.

From bill@apocalypse.org:
I can't quite make out the text on the screens from the reflection... I
think I needed more clues as to the predicament in the scene to understand
it from viewing it.

From p_chan@shaw.ca:
My take on what to do with the sun would have been to
leave it visible, and create a dummy light to illuminate
the planet. However, I personally don't like very
prominent lens flares, so I would recommend toning the
lens flare down a bit. The interior of the ship is done
well with the red lighting. As for the exterior, a less
blurry starfield would be more realistic for a view from
space.

From StephenF@whoever.com:
I like the modelling and texturing on the various objects.
The lens flare seems rather gaudy and overdone to me,
and tends to distract from the rest of the scene.

From clem@dhol.org:
The monochrome concept strengthenes the image
artistically. It seems to me that the emergency bit is
redundant. "Alone in orbit" would be quite lonely enough
for most people.
