Effective use of blur.

Don't apologize for composite construction--it's an excellent method. What I
really like are the rain and puddles. While this is my favorite, that doesn't
mean it's perfect. A gravestone in the rain is powerful... but a forgotten and
neglected gravestone in the rain is much more so. Put the lie to the
inscription and add some rocks with moss and lichen, mushrooms, weeds. The
plaque can be rusted brass and the headstone can be chipped, worn, and
overgrown.

You did a good job on the rain and wetness. It worked out much better than I
often see. There is no doubt about the loneliness theme in this one.

Looks pretty real.

This image is quite vivid and compelling.
(And on a technical note I really like how the rain effect worked out.
It adds a perfect touch of mood for the image).

I like the puddles.

Very realistic! Does communicate poignancy and loss very well.

I think this is my favorite of the "gravestone" images in this =
competition. The feeling of lonliness is effectively portrayed here. =
Good artistry and attention to detail. Complaints? Too much reliance =
on objects created by others. And maybe needs just a bit more contrast =
overall.

I thought I recognized that grass... :-)
Nice job on the rain/water!

From p_chan@shaw.ca:
The rain is excellent - it looks quite realistic and really
adds to the mood of the image. The image has a very
realistic look too it. The one thing which looks
somewhat awkward are the little white specks in the
bottom third or so of the image. My feeling is that they
have something to do with the rain, but I can't really tell
what they are.

Simple composition, yet very effective... has a very
lonely feel to it.

From clem@dhol.org:
Background should either be uglier to match the theme or
beautiful and lush to provide contrast.
