This just shouts lonely to me. Great!

From henry@unforgettable.com:

hmm, i like the picture, but unless i'm very much mistaken you can't do things
like polar bears in terragen. i'm afraid i'll have to mark you down, as you
didn't say how you did that.

Snow... As predicted. But a polar bear instead of a wolf. Looks good.

Looking at the background in this image I can tell right away it is terragen
created image. Reading your description, do you honestly expect me to believe
you modeled the bear in just terragen as well? It looks to me as though
someone did some ilegal post processing. Perhaps I am in error, if so please
prove it to me otherwise, and I will adjust your score accordingly, but I must
give this image a fail.
 It is a little obvious to me that this image could of been hacked together with
just a few seconds of tweaking the default terragen render, and copy&paste a
bear during a post process. (For some reason, this is not the first time
someone tried this cheat on a winter bear scene).
 Perhaps you did not cheat, but just did not bother to read through the rules
before you submited. If so I strongly suggest you read them if you consider
entering the next round.
 BTW, what gave it away was the shadowing on the bear, both cast & the shadows
that look already painted on a 2D image, besides a few other things.
  And before I forget, please add text next time on HOW you made the image? It
is usualy expected, and by not doing so casts even more suspicion on your work
at this point.

I'm not convinced the bear was done in terragen.

From klynn@telefish.net:
how was the bear made?

From novotek@web.de:
i'm sorry - but i think that this is not what it should be. the polar-bear (i've
seen that "pose" in another contest) is not rendered - terragen is not able to
do this - just landscapes.

photoshop (i think) was used. the image is nice - but unfortunately not rendered
in the way that irtc want's it.

sorry to do so - better luck next time (new contest is "spectacular landscapes"
- try out this with terragen)

Nice pic. Very pleasant :)
How did you manage to include the bear in terragen?
Best regards.

From mosconariz@yahoo.com.mx:
Is that a CG bear?

=====
From dapigg2000@yahoo.com:
I do NOT like this image. I will now rant and rave about how easy making crap in
terragen is (I usu. won't complain unless it's a REALLY big part of the scene).
It looks like a very quick pic of a polar bear merged with a pic from terragen
and a shadow added. If I am wrong forgive me, but your text file leaves plenty
out.

  I wish you would have explained how you made the image. I would have liked
 to know how you modeled the bear.

From rclee@oklahoma.net:
I like it.

From glenn@mccarters.net:
A larger rendering would help show the details. As it is, I see some =
rectangles here and there suggesting low resolution on the mountain.

=====
From bill@apocalypse.org:
The landscape is very nice, the polar bear looks good but seems like it was
cut & pasted onto the scene, doesn't seem to be truly part of it.

=====
From p_chan@shaw.ca:
The sky and terrain look excellent, although I would like
to seem some footprints (bearprints) in the snow.
Placing the bear in a more central position in the image
might give a better sense of loneliness (i.e. the bear is
more clearly surrounded by emptiness), but the mountain
might need to moved as well if that were done.

From patrick@sypa.net:
HTe bear is 3d or 2d ???

=====
From StephenF@whoever.com:
Nice landscape. I don't really get a feeling of loneliness
from it, though...

=====
From jl@artcom-gmbh.de:
The mountain seems to be too steep.

=====
From clem@dhol.org:
The mountain is nice, but the bear is inconspicuous as it is
and the mountain dilutes the focus even more.
