From maarten_hofman@hotmail.com:
It's a good idea, though maybe a different colour for the balloon would've been
appropriate (blue comes to mind).

=====
From houston_roadrunner@yahoo.com:
the ground needs grass, the light on the ballon seems to be at the wrong angle
for the sun.

Low object detail.

I'm glad you learnt while doing this project. The balloon looks good. The
fence could use a little more work though. Also if this is a deserted fair
shouldn't there be lots of garbage around?

From beighton155@yahoo.com:
A very nice idea, not bad for a first image at all, alot better than mine (check
out afterthe~ in the city round)!! I think it would have captured the theme
more if it was done in a more sinister manner, a bit darker.

From novotek@web.de:
i wonder where the balloon is going to land...
perhaps a nice image for the next topic: landscapes ?

From p.olice@free.fr:
The idea was good, and your image conveys a sad atmosphere, which is fitting. On
the other hand, modelling, texturing and lighting are too basic to my liking.

Good ideas... very good.

From suso@suso.org:
  Nice concept. Things look a little wavy in spots though. The ballon might
 have been more opaque or refracted light a bit more.

From rclee@oklahoma.net:
Good use of fog. A little more variety in color
and a carnival ride or two might have helped.

From jrcsurvey@aol.com:
The pictorial elements you mention, deserted fairground, stark fence, bleak=20=
sky,
do contribute to an overall effect of loneliness. Do you know the movie "Th=
e Red Balloon"?

=====
From glenn@mccarters.net:
Not bad, a good image idea, but "breaking free" seems to be the theme =
here. Execution leaves a little to be desired. See golonlns.jpg in =
this competition for a more attractive fence design. The fog and focal =
blur robs the image of needed contrast, leaving it hazy, indistinct.

From p_chan@shaw.ca:
The balloon looks fairly convincing from this distance
(the knot looks fairly realistic), although it is a bit too
spherical. The large tents look pretty good, but he
smaller ones could use some work as they look too
artificial. I like how you have used the fence and the
fog to create a trapped, isolated feeling.

=====
From StephenF@whoever.com:
Nice scene... the tents look good, and the colors used
draw attention to the balloon. Seems a bit washed out,
though... perhaps the fog is a bit too thick?

From clem@dhol.org:
Evocative use of minimal tools. Good idea. The overall
fuzziness helps the effect.
