IMAGE DESCRIPTION:

The idea came from a dream dreamt shortly after the results were
announced for the Winter round which was apparently inspired by
comments made on the IRTC mailing list.

And just what were all those snow-MEN doing living and melting together?
To borrow from Jerry Seinfeld, "Not that there is anything wrong with
that."

Looking at the finished image, I wish I had scattered some ice fragments
around too. If my hindsight was in front....

I am aiming humor at several of the past IRTC stills rounds, but I ran
short of time and the snow-women are not much like the samurai
snow-women I wanted... What other recent rounds did I have in mind?

I hope you find the image some fun!

DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED:

The image is made up of a mix of meshes and csg. The snow_men,
snow_women and most of the objects are meshes generated with the SOR
capability in "Steve's Object Builder" perl script.

The castle is made up of ice bricks, snow mortar and it has the scars
from the war between the snow-men and snow-women.

The howitzer barrel is SOR generated meshes and blobs.

About half the textures come from those shipped in the pov-ray
distribution. Nearly all the rest are modified versions of textures I
had laying around. The most time was spent on the ice textures used for
the blocks in the castle and as the 'ground' in the courtyard.

The lighting is set up with two shadow-less lights above and below to set
the ambient level and two closely spaced lights for the sun. This is the
same set up used in my Morning Glory image from the Winter round.

The modeling was done using my 2D array techniques and a calculator for
the 3D positioning of the figures.

Oh, the sign comes from the winter round too, only the image_maps were
changed.

I have included everything but the meshes in the zip file.

Thanks for taking the time to read this. All comments are welcome.
