I like the blurring/fading effect created in the "slip 
pond."  One thing I would change is to make the 
symbols on the glowing lights at the edge of the pond 
more visible.

Nice scene.  I like the texture on the rim, and the colors 
work well.  Connection to topic seems somewhat 
tenuous to me... giving some description of what you 
were going for might have helped the concept score a 
bit.
