The placement of objects on the desk(s) is done nicely.  
I also like the texture for the lamp shades.  One 
suggestion I have for improving the scene would be to 
turn the lamps on by adding an fading light source to 
each iteration of the image.  Another thing which would 
probably improve the image would be to add some sort 
of background (i.e. a room of some sort.).

Very nice scene, especially for a first entry.  Good 
modelling.  The lamp seems a bit short and squat to me, 
and the lampshade seems rather opaque, but all the 
other objects look good.  Lighting is very effective and 
helps make the scene, although I think softer shadows 
would be good here.  Looking forward to seeing future 
entries from the artists.
