I like the use of reflection to show the TV, it makes the scene composition a
lot better. The stand lamp is nice as well, although if an area_light could
have been used for soft shadows that might have looked a little better.

The objects don't look all that bad, just a bit more detail on the room would
have helped,
and maybe a clearer defining of the different worlds.

BTW, at first I thought The Simpsons picture was a take on The Sopranos. :)

The reflected TV is too sharp.  Until I read your 
description, I thought it was inside the fish tank.  I think 
the bright image on the screen should show up much 
better than the TV box itself.

The reflection of the TV in the aquarium is done nicely.  
The TV almost look as if it was in the aquarium.  One 
suggestion for improvement is the air bubbles in the 
aquarium.  I'm not sure how you made them, but they 
don't really look like air bubbles.  They look more like 
solid objects in the water.  One thing you could try is 
giving the water an interior { ior x.x }, and then taking 
the difference of the water box with the air bubble 
spheres.
