IMAGE DESCRIPTION:

Inspired from the legends and myths of the ancient world..
Two gods are seen to be arguing in a game of chess in the silence of a
starry starry night of the universe.
Gestures of hands such as pinpointing to the other..clutching the hand...
crushing an olive branch the symbol of peace..tipping of a wine glass..shows
the seriousness of the game. Above their heads are the letters MDK..(sounds
like a demolition thing).
;O)
On the table: a bowl of grapes(food for thought)...a spilled wine cup(we are
always so thirsty)..coins(show me the money!!!)..a branch of olives leaves
(world peace(?))..

This chess game however is depicting a battle of 2 kings in the real world:
Taking the centrestage on the chessboard are two soldiers('pawns') from each
side involved in a sword fight.
Nearer to the scene a silver soldier(or could it be a 'bishop' in armor(?))
is seen kneeling in front of a corpse, saying a little prayer , perhaps..
A 'bronze' archer from the tower('castle') is aiming his arrow at his enemies.
The silver queen is in a state of shock with 2 hands covering her face to the
events unfolding in front of her. The bronze queen however has her hands in
akimbo...impatiently watching..
The silver king is rubbing his chin, thinking on his next move while the bronze king is getting
ready to draw his sword..
A silver soldier is guarding the tower('castle') next to his king, hmm....
'castling' perhaps..
Finally 2 soldiers on horses('knights') from each side preparing for a
confrontation at the far end.

Thus they are the gods little playthings...are we not?
:O)

DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED:

A sketch is first made on a piece of paper for visual purposes. References
are from art historical books especially those marbled statues. Then comes
the modeling objects..

All models are made using Spatch:
The chess 'human' models set pieces are a mixture of spheres(and 'stretched'
ones) with some extruded circles plus a 'couple' of legs. The horses are
modeled in Spatch.
The MDK word are just two flat surfaces : the front consisting of the
rectangular shape with an cutout outline of the letters MDK(with sans)... the
back which is placed just a bit behind the front part is the lettered shaped
of MDK. Both are textured in contrast to give an inscription outlook.
Columns are beveled shaped from a circle extruded.
Hairs and beard are made from a singular 'S' like shaped object which is copied
and placed numerously on the head. This goes with the olives too but with a
leaf shape instead.
The clothing to the gods are shaped irregularly from a numerous extruded
circle.
Gestural hands and faces of gods are modelled using Spatch..so too are the wine
cups, jar, the little red 'liquid' speck inside the tipped wine cup.
The stars are just basic primitive spheres.

They are then imported to Hamapatch where the textures are applied to some of the
objects.
The textures used are include files found inside the Pov-Ray for Windows v3.1.
Finally the rendering(640x480 at anti-alias 0.3 with 2 light sources)...da da da dee dum
:O)
Note: Due to the 21795 frame levels of this scene the .pov file is 9.9mega which is big to zip.
