IMAGE DESCRIPTION:

This is Julius Caesar's 10th Legion right on its way to Gallia (today:France)! The 10th Legion
is famous for its courage and devotion and was often used in dangerous situations
( p. ex. if a war was nearly lost).
But now it seems that our friends got lost in the forrests of gallia. The general is looking at his map,
but there he can't find the smal pond in front of him...;-)

DESICRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED:

The most difficult thing was to create the humans (with blender), because I never did that before.
I used the low-polygon-method ( building up the objects with a few polygons and then using the
"subdivision smooth" tool). The trees are made with lparser and the terrain was created with amapi.
With HIGHLIGHT I combined all theese objekts to the scene you can see. Then I made the textures
(only mathematical ones) in HIGHLIGHT. The gras on the floor and the army in the background
are, of course, particles. Then I tryed to find the right possition of the lights . Finaly one of
the lights was turned into a great sun (using HIGHLIGHT's great options to create flares and
glowing suns). Photographic blur lets the background and sun seems to be vague.

---It was realy hard work to create this image, but I am very happy now---
--- that it looks like I imagined it and I hope you will like it, too.----
