Definitely don't want to meet that in the dark. Ummm... When I think about it,
not even in daylight ;-)

The Beholder looks pretty scary!

From bonsalva@bellsouth.net:
Great job ! Very original.

From elias@users.sourceforge.net:
Artistic Merit: The cathedral, as well as the Beholder, look good. But by just
putting one picture on top of the other, you can't get the highest artistical
merit. 14/20.

Technical Merit: The cathedral is done very well it seems, but it looks a bit
flat, probably due to the lighting. The monster looks very nicely done, but
something is wrong with the shape: It is a perfectly smooth line, while it
seems to have a bumppy and crackled surface? This gives some technical points
off. 11/20.

Concept, originality, interpretation of theme: A monster floating in a
cathedral, not that original one might say, but I like it :)

I thought you bitmapped that beholder until you said something. Very
Impressive.

From mikenmelanie@yahoo.com:
Hmm, the rules state that your image must be totally original... that you can
not use anything that you made prior to the announcement of the contest.
Although your image is great, i'm sure that it will not get the score that is
deserves.

From fmurr@free.fr:
Your picture appears really dark on my screen.
Once i added light, I've been able to see the background and appreciate your
work.
Wouahou!how did you do those great textures for your monster?

=====
From jesseh@softhome.net:
Best damn beholder I've ever seen... time for the boots of speed, methinks.

From delfeld@mailcity.com:
I shudder to think that AD&D has consumed the imagination within fantasy.
I suppose that lifting someone else's ideas and drawings does not infringe on
your opinion that you did not use someone else's work, though it should. If
this were literary art, it might be considered plagarism, simply because you
did not give proper credit. Art is a different monster; even still, you
obviously have a good skill at building models and bringing them to life, so
there is no reason to limit yourself to other people's imagery and thinking.

From StephenF@whoever.com:
Cool-looking... creepy... I think you've really captured
the essence of a beholder here. Good modelling and
texturing. The cathedral looks good, and the level of
detail is very nice, but it seems a bit flat compared to
the reality of the beholder.

Fabulous modelling, texture so real I'm repelled.
Notable for textures, modelling

From file:
Nice fangs, the modelling is very good but lacks a bit in textures, although
there are not bad it looks like plaster to me. The background is fine... the
eyestalks are a bit rigid. In the overall is a fantastic image, it reminds me
of some Monster Mannual cover...
Notable for modelling
