This guy knows how to use POV-Ray in detail. Especially the blobs and macros.
Very good.

Very convincing sand castle and a great concept. I like it! Sea and clouds could
have used more work but it's still great for the short timescale you had.

From htkra1d@hotmail.com:
Lol, thanks for the warning :-). Although the picture is nice, the castle seems
still a bit blob-like to me. Not much more to say, except that the sand looks a
bit dry. Overall a nice pic.

From tony@awmcs.net:
Wow!! You really know your blobs!!

From extrememarinerfan@home.com:
The detail of the beach is awesome!

From PovRayGuy@aol.com:
Great Work Duncan! Nice use of blobs. (You know how I love them... :) )

From jaimevives@mixmail.com:
Very good modelling job. Excellent composition too. But I expected a more warm
sunlight for such a kind of beach.

From a.vandekraats@student.utwente.nl:
Before reading the txt I asumed the picture was made with an expensive modeller
like 3D Studio or something. I was amazed when I found out that this was all
created with POV blobs, patches and cylinders. Well done.

From ZenPsycho@yahoo.com:
your knowledge of povray's ram usage is impressive. I admire your ability to
effectively use blobs. But the sand texture is lacking, while it does look sort
of grainy, it doesn't look like these are grains of sand. it looks more like
plastic with a rough surface. the palm trees look pretty good though.

From mark.wagner17@gte.net:
How many blob components were in the final image?

=====
From youknow@ucan.foad.org:
You're insane. A quarter of a million spheres?

Granted, the result is quite good, and after all some
of the best artists HAVE been insane. I do think the
way the castle merges with the sand is a plus, although
I have never myself built a sandcastle that amazingly
smooth.

From peter@table76.demon.co.uk:
My second-favourite sandcastle picture, with extra technical marks for doing it
all with blobs.

From delfeld@mailcity.com:
Very nice all around. Nice thinking on the theme. The metaphors come through
pictorally, and it takes some time to understand how it works.
