For improvement try adding some of the grime that small 
children always seem to create.  Also some nicks, dents 
and teeth marks on the blocks would be nice.  I loke the 
use of the Focal Blur.

Good explanation of a fortress!  It does not come through visually as well as it
does literarily.   A fortress is not objects that resemble or imitate castles.
. . those may very well be two different ideas.
