Wood texture seems all out of proportion with the rest of
the scene. This is a slightly more interesting concept than
some of the others. A more ornate box might have fit your
story somewhat better.

Pandora's box was opened by Pandora, a woman.  The story had a socialistic
intent for having a _woman_ open the box.  Is this in contrast to that?
