Deep blue.

Technical - Nice work on the sperm whales.
Concept - A different sort of contrast but you justified it well.

It is a surprizingly effective juxtaposition

Good use of the rule of thirds. Biggest problem is that it
just isn't that blue under water..and if the ripples indicate
the surface of the water then where is the sun (the
shadows under the whales and sub tell my brain that
there is a sun)?

Technically - The ripples are just too uniform. The sub
model isn't too bad, but the whales are far too narrow.
Textures also need work.

Good Concept

This strikes me as a little too blue. The sub looks nice,
but could benefit from some more complexity. The
whales I like, but they seem kind of flat. A nice feel to
the scene overall, though.

Hmmm, difficult subject. Yes these creatures/objects have some contrasting
traits, but the image itself shows more "similarity" than "contrast" between
them. And the image itself shows very little tonal contrast -- it's nearly
monochromatic.

A bit more light and (ironicaly) contranst in the immage
would have enchanced the differnece between the two
ocean inhabitants. The surface is a bit monotonic to be
realistic. Some form of light filtering from above would
have been perfect
