I think your image would look a lot better if you would have rendered the whole
thing with area lights.  The shadows look very sharp.  Because of the way the
scene is made, my eye is drawn more to the lamp than to the scroll.

The modelling on the lantern and the brazier (on the far 
left) looks good.  I like the design on the bowl in the 
foreground.  Good use of lighting to give the scene a 
mysterious feel.
