This pictured scored high all around. It was very original, very well
done, and conveyed meaning beyond the surface of the work (an important
point of art, I believe). I agree that the metal needs a little
something, but I am far from being an expert, so I'm afraid I have no
useful suggestions (sorry). Needless to say, this is one my favorite

Very interesting interpretation of the siren concept.  The 
gramaphone looks very good, and the water looks nice, 
especially with the rocky layer beneath it showing 
through.  Nice work on the shaping of the flags, 
although I don't feel the flags themselves really help 
develop the concept of the scene.

That gramaphone model looks like a typewriter from behind.  For me the image
doesn't tell the story very well, my first impression was what's a typewriter
doing playing football in the water, the flags remind me of goal posts.  This
one just didn't work for me.

Copying ideas and images must have let you focus on composition, since this is a
nice image.  The wave diagonals going to the top-left are nicely offset by the
darker digonals going toward the top-right.  The similar values of the colors
are nicely balanced by the shadows and dark wood of the box.
The symbolism of the flags is a little odd.  Why would a siren plant flags?
