What this actually looks like (and what I thought it was) was small sculptors
made out of sand by some children of scorpions. The scorpions are too rounded,
but the general form is nice.

for a night shot give the lighting a bluer tint (Like on TV)

The image is way too dark. Although night is dark it doesn't mean that the
overal brightness of the image should be dark too. A more or less bright and
blueish moonlight and a high contrast between lit and shadowed parts could
have worked a lot better.
I can't judge your scorpion model because I can't see any details of it due
to the darkness.

You could try to model it using conventional shapes.  Good texturing, but image
is much to dark

A bit basic. Some more emphasis in creating the surroundings and the modelling
of the scorpions would've given this submission quite a boost. Not bad for
a first POV try, though. Keep it up!

Artistic - Simple but somewhat pleasing
Technical - Nicely shaped scorpions but they might look a little better if they
            were less rounded.
Concept - Hard to picture wilderness here.
