One of the best concepts this round easily.

From loomsbury@yahoo.com:
Very nice. I really like this idea. It looks good. The wall and door don't
look right, but your pov sky looks nice. Perhaps something on the water would
have been good too.

From jaime@ctav.es:
Very good start at the competition! Very nice, beautiful, interesting. Great
detail.

Really good and really original!

I must say I am very impressed that you did all that work after only using POV
for 3 months. I too remember these train sets. Probably the best IRTC first
timer submission I've seen. (I'm a first timer too.) My only suggestion is to
give the real city a little more smoothness. (Maybe some atmosphere.)

First image!!! This isn't Ice scating. We give marks based on the skill of the
artist not the amout of time the artist has been doing it. With that in mind I
gave you very good marks because I really like the concept. Looking forward to
future entries from you.

For the first entry, wow. I love the front part,
but I don't get the background part.

From marlo.steed@uleth.ca:
Way cool. Loved it!

From tom@tomandlu.force9.co.uk:
I loved this. My son's just getting into it. Beautifully done. Make an
include.

From tglover@nettally.com:
LOVE the track -- my son is into Thomas the Tank
Engine (similiar to Brio) and you've got it DOWN.

Quite nice work for a first-timer.

From StephenF@whoever.com:
Excellent concept and execution, and the train tracks in
particular stand out for me in their detail. I think the
texturing on the wall and woodwork could use a little
refinement, though.

From tonyv@iafrica.com:
For a first go this is very, very good.

From mar@physics.usyd.edu.au:
This is really fantastic. The modelling required to get the toy trains, plus
the integration with the city in the distance, and the dissolve of the wall,
is really impressive. The city itself looks great... like a real city, with
suburbs and a central business district. The detailing is appropriate - the
wooden floor is spot on. And the concept and application to the topic is
truly inspired. This deserves to do well. I would suggest just a couple of
things: The shadowing on the train set looks very dark - a more diffuse
light source or radiosity would help here. And the skyscrapers show some
annoying aliasing patterns which could probably be avoided with care.

This is my favourite image from this round.

Nice work (and evidently lots of it).

Wow! This is my favourite image this round! Is this really your first image? The
city is very well modeled, and the trains too, they look like the real thing.
My only complaint is the blocks and the trains, they look to un-textured.

Doing this without modellers is great. But you'd wrote some kind of modeller
yourselve, do you? Well, but for that short time it's absolutely great. I'm
playing around with pov for one year now and I haven't get that far.
Congratulations!
