IMAGE DESCRIPTION:

A still life of two symbols of urban nightlife reflecting the cityscape where
they reside.

DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED:

Most of my previous entries have tested my modelling skills to try and
accomplish things I didn't have the tools to do. This time I decided to do
what I know how to do, and do it better than I ever had before.

When the topic 'City' was revealed the image of two martinis stuck in my head.
For me, the martini is the ultimate symbol of city life in America. I did a
lot of real life experimenting to see how different mixtures of martinis looked
in different lighting environments. =)

Simple rotations and CSG created all the images in this scene, modeled after
glasses, shakers and stirrers I either own currently, or previously
encountered. Probably 800f the time spent was on the textures and focal blur
settings to get the feel just right.

While this may appear to be an attempt at realistic or photograph quality
rendering, it isn't. It is pure fantasy and I manipulated the colors,
textures, lights and angles to get the artistic rendering I wanted. No science
was used in the creation of this image! =)

The skyline in the martini shaker is Dallas, TX, in case you were wondering!
