From chris@bluelectrode.com:
Alien zen garden, good idea. I myself had a similar idea but decided to go with
something else.

Overall, the image is exquisite and very realistic. I like the interaction
between the boulders and water especially.

My only complaint is that there should be something else in the scene The
overall image seems a little empty, even with the birds;) Also, the signature
could have been more discrete.

Good job.

the signature seems to in my face

From YaelParis@operamail.com:
too bad I'm not the only one who thought of a zen garden ;-) nice composition
but I can't really see the "birds".

From rbyman@rockies.net:
The rocks are magnificent. But is seems pretty unfinished. No garden again.

From whhale@nvl.army.mil:
Good textures and composition. If you could have cut the rocks in half and
given one a shinier aspect to resemble the water that has lapped at it's sides
you would have really had something special.

From ianshumsky@hotmail.com:
Great textures on the three rocks in the pool.

A lovely image. I missed the zen motif at first glance - I liked the idea of
a garden not involving plants, but still definately a garden.

This is a good work of art. For me, it reads well from front to back, using the
flock of birds and planetary rings makes this happen. The use of a rock garden
is a good choice for breaking away from our culturally perscribed views on what
a garden should look like. However, using a sci-fi dominated theme does not do
it for me, I would actually like to have known more about the Japanese
interpretion of garden since this is also alien to myself.

One negative detail : the straight line at the base of the mountains. One would
expect mountains not to end straight ...
Now I know about a new patch ... mega POV (already seen a good few times in
this
round, ... yes I do not follow the newsgroups scene so I'm a bit out of touch
until the IRTC voting comes about ...), I'll have to check this up.
It's a nice picture, but the sense of garden seems a bit lost there.

Very good use of new features on megapov. Fine!

From albiaprime@aol.com:
Technical - nice looking rocks and landscape
Artistic - fairly well balanced picture
Theme - a garden of a different sort

From mar@physics.usyd.edu.au:
An interesting variant of the zen rock garden - this seems fairly well thought
out.
the water surface looks good, and matches the zen garden ripples nicely.
However,
the background is a bit bland and generically science-fiction-ish. I would have
appreciated this much more if the background had contained some trees or
something
less otherworldly.
