the sail in the foreground is too transparent - they surely didn't use silk...

From scarmig@ohmss.com:
I had the same idea originally but I couldn't get a clear picture in my head of
what the lighthouse would look like. Good job! The only complaint I have is
that I doubt it would look so pristine white. Maybe some layered texturing?

Now THAT's a Lighthouse!

From sammy@cube.net:
I gave you a higher concept rating than other lighthouses, as, at least, it's a
*different* one. It looks too ~clean~ though. I owuld have liked to see
some grime and dirt.

From tglover@nettally.com:
Nice modelling and use of multiple lighs. Good boats, well placed. (hand
placing IS difficult!) Flames are good for a first attempt. Base of
building somehow hard to discernt from the water -- maybe needs some
water/lannd interaction at intersection to make clear.

Very good. Theme & Art.

From gmccarter@hotmail.com:
Good modelling on the lighthouse and ships. Flame seems to be leaping out of
the tower.

From clem@dhol.com:
I like the water. The flames shooting out make it seem like
the light is out of corntrol and burning down. The boats are
good. The contrast between the small and simple boats
and the huge and ornate lighthouse guiding them is
interesting. I don't like the idea of the giant monolithic
granite slab as a base.

From mar@physics.usyd.edu.au:
Your media worked fine... also the water and modelling are good. If I could
suggest anything it would be some layering of dirt textures on the stonework
or some other wear and tear to make it look not so perfect and clean.
