Great idea!

I've found that when you are doing a lot of lights, like for a movie marquee,
you can get away with making a lot of them fake lights with just a high
ambience. The "real" lights that include light sources take care of the
lighting while the "fake" lights make it look like you've got enough.

Why does the street look like it was flooded?

Good pic. And gas was $0.19 into the 70's <grin>

Very good modelling and lighting -- good details on textures. Puddles in
mid to far scene work well, while the one in the lower left seems too
slick -- almost ice-like.

By the way - many fire departments paint hydrents' caps to tell what amount
of water can be pumped from them. Those connected to sdmaller water mains
may have green caps while those on bigger mains may be red or blue, for
example.

Why not.
There is quite a lot to it.

Unusual colors all around, such as the orange sidewalks, muddy streets, and
rainbow sky.
Good work on the background objects.

Nice job on the fire hydrant.

Clever and original choice. Usual excellent research.
Good colors. Not highly detailed, but effective. A bit of
wind to ripple the water would have been nice. Good
vines. Good color.

Very nice take on the suggestion in the topic explanation text. I'm impressed
by the amount of research and effort put into this, and the results really
show it.
