From sshaw@fas.harvard.edu:
The chess pieces, as you note, look very good. I liked this take
on "unbelievable". The only thing about the image that I have a
problem with is the perspective, which looks off to me. The back of
the board doesn't seem to be further from the camera, judging from
the perspective of the squares.

From brendthess@aol.com:
Very nice! Good chess set, and the k'nex figures look lively.

From kistler@nevada.edu:
I like the idea and the implementation is well done. I think you should have
left the reflection on the chess board and done something else with the
background. The background is immensely unimportant in this picture. Maybe
you could have moved it back pretty far so that it wouldn't reflect on the
board? And possibly shine a light on it if it was then too far away to catch
the light from the other source. But to compromise the general composition of
the picture in order to accomodate an unimportant background is foolish.

Where are the shadows ?

From johnson@pharmacy.arizona.edu:
I like the robots! Wood grain on checc board and pieces a little too regular,
you can see all the wood grain, even on separtae parts, is aligned, such as on
the black king. It's mate in one, btw, not two...

From MMandl@aol.com:
The positions of the robots is wonderful! Keep up your good work.

From sdevet@istar.ca:
Unbelievable? I don't know, but I love the image! The robots are a joy
to see! :)

From peter@table76.demon.co.uk:
You say the image looks better without shadows, but wouldn't shadows help
make it look as if the figures and pieces are on the board instead of
floating?

Nice effort. Lighting really is a problem in scenes like this.

Nicely modeled. Predictable subjects, with a twist to make it interesting.

Wow, great idea, and I enjoyed reading the essay that came with it, that is
definately the most thorough text file I have ever read.
