The egg and branches are pretty good.  The bedding in 
the nest works better than the twigs for its construction.  
The tree branch looks more like table top.  One 
improvement would be to scatter some more of those 
good branches around and add focal blur to highlight 
the egg.  Also, the egg is a bit large for the size of the 
nest.

Branch/trunk should be bark, not cut wood (my biggest 'complaint' ;^)

Egg is very good.  Faint patterning and color variations are beautiful.

Nest is well-thought-out, but still looks too 'regular' somehow.  More random
irregularities might enhance this - particularly smaller twigs and less
patterning to the weave.  (IE, some protruding straight out, some reversed,
etc)
The twigs look hollow, like cinnamon sticks - they should (at least most of
them) be closed.

More random placement of pine needles (small variances of angle and length,
including rotation all the way around the twig instead of two-sided) would add
helpful detail without detracting from focus.

This one has a lot of promise.... however, some of the 
scene needs a bit
more attention.  The egg is excellent.  However, the 
nest looks artificial,
and the wood texture needs more work.  These two 
elements take up
so much of the scene, they are important.  This isn't too 
far from being a
really top-notch entry, though.

Nicely done, if a bit too regular, nest.  The pine needles 
are excellent.  The egg is too obviously an ellipsoid and 
not a true egg shape.  I like the bark texture.

The hay looks good, but the twigs are a bit too regular, and make me wonder how
that nest could ever hold together without plenty of glue. The trunk in the
background looks like a reasonable approximation of pine, but the branch on the
foreground doesn't. It's also so big that this tree would have to be a sequoia
or something..
