look to it but since you're doing Escher I can accept a lot of surrealism.  I'm

pretty cunning.
colours look a bit simple and saturated, but maybe that's what you want.
wasn't the original picture in portrait mode? maybe this one should
have been as well.
plants are nice if a bit regular.
nice off-center composition.
central feature is perhaps too small

Well, you're up against some tough competition.  Clever technique on the
"steps", but many of the textures in the scene need work (particularly the blue
ink, oops I mean water).  Good spread of objects around the scene to keep the
composition lively.

Ahh, another Escher (I did Waterfall this round). Nice idea, doing 'Upstairs and
downstairs' with water and fishes. I think modeling impossible buildings is
much more interesting than raytracing something which could be done much better
with a photo-camera.
