From scooby@pld.com:
Although technically sound, the image is not appealing to the eye. Texturing
needs work: sky and castle walls.

From Sean_Hamilton@amrcorp.com:
This pic seems layered. Sky, mountains, castle, and people all feel like they
dont belong together. Individually they look good. I like the idea of
water and earth mixing together to make a mud attack, but we can't see it
because of the lens flare

Nice image, but lenses flair looks like photoshop

From gmol@my-dejanews.com:

Cool, it looks like a glacier in the back with eyes...
=====
From skywise@fix.net:
Overuse of lens flare kind of blocked out the image... I don't see 'air'
either... :? Anyway,
aside from that I do like the concept and it looks pretty nice...

From gmccarter@hotmail.com:
With such bright flares, it is difficult to see what is happening.
The background mountain looks like it's encased in blue jello.
Good stone textures.

From manorton@tcnet.net:
Using Max you should be able to get a better looking image.

From djconnel@flash.net:
The scene is nicely dynamic!

A few suggestions, though:

1. The moon is too close
2. The mountains need more work.
3. The castle looks like legos ... it needs more detail.

From bill@apocalypse.org:
A bit oversdone - the lens flares are too much. Also, a closer camera
angle would have worked better. We're seeing the scene from too far
away, it's hard to tell what's going on.

From r@dial-up46.webbernet.net:
Fairly prosaic idea. The textures, as is depressingly common with 3dsmax
entries are, let's say, uninspired. The fire has far too regular an outline
and looks like a badly composited clip from a stock image. The ground, since
you were using a patch anyhow, would have benefitted from some 3d structure. A
more realistic ground texture would have been helpful, too. Modelling is stiff
and plasticky. The warrior, at least, has a somewhat interesting pose, but he
looks more like a toy soldier than an embattled hero. The background starfield
is poor and the mountain is unrealistic and distracting. The moon has some
potential. The "blobby thing" has an interesting texture, but looks more like
snot run wild than a fearsome elemental attack. The lens flares are a mistake.
Rather than indicating magic in use, they just look anachronistic, as does the
overall photoflash lighting. I see that you put considerable work in this
image, but I think that your choice of tools and techniques let you down. This
