IMAGE DESCRIPTION:

The Akashi Kaikyo bridge under construction. This bridge is the world's
longest suspension bridge, at 2.43 miles in length. Located along the
Kobe-Naruto route in Japan the bridge is scheduled to open April 5, 1998.

DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED:

The water was created using Imagine's Waves texture. Buildings are a simple
filter map created in DeluxePaint and mapped onto a flat surface. Clouds and
fog were also filter maps created with DeluxePaint.
All remaining elements (bridge surfaces, coastline, boat, bouys) are
polygons created in Imagine's modeller.

The image was rendered at 4000x3600 resulting in a 13 Meg image that took
5 hours 24 minutes to generate.
