This seems like a good time to use CSG instead of a modeler.
I'd guess you'd be under 1000 objects for all 17 bulbs,
and it should render somewhat faster

IMHO you could have used CSG for the inside parts: this would have saved you a
huge amount
of memory and would have enabled you to render your scene as desired. Anyway, it
looks nice as it is!
