The curtain needs to be raised above the stage, to leave a small dark gap.

Interesting image. The concept is definitely original. Some more work on the 
textures would have improved things immensely. Most especially in the curtains.

Nice idea. You could have done a bit more with the big curtain, maybe given it a
sort of draped look, some hangings modelled with sPatch for example. It would
have been nice if it would end a bit above the stage floor, so some shadow
would be visible.
